# Ask

The first step is you describing what you want, in your own words, on whichever surface you're using — the website, X, or Farcaster.

> launch GameStop paired with GMEX

## What this does — and doesn't do

Asking never spends anything. STONKFUNBOT's conversational layer reads your message and works out what you mean, but interpreting a message is not the same thing as authorizing a transaction. There is no path from "here's what I asked for" directly to a signature.

If what you asked for is transactional (a launch or a swap), it moves to [Review](/transaction-flow/review.md). If it's a question, it's answered directly through the [Terminal](/using-stonkfunbot/terminal.md) — no proposal, no confirmation needed, because nothing is being spent.

## Ambiguous requests

If your request doesn't clearly resolve to a specific action — say, an incomplete launch command missing a name or a pairing — STONKFUNBOT doesn't guess. It asks you to state it more precisely rather than picking an interpretation on your behalf, especially where money is involved.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.stonkfun.bot/transaction-flow/ask.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
