# Farcaster

Farcaster is a supported conversational surface. It uses the same proposal-and-confirmation flow as the website and X, from a cast instead of a message or a mention.

## Linking

Link your Farcaster account from your website dashboard before casting to the bot. Your Farcaster identity is resolved by its permanent account id, not by your username — a username can change, but the account it names the same wallet either way. A cast from an unlinked identity is told to link an account privately; a public cast never creates one.

## What you can do

* Ask research questions (see [Terminal](/using-stonkfunbot/terminal.md)) — no linking required for these.
* Request a launch or a swap — this produces a priced proposal, never an immediate action.
* Confirm a proposal by casting its code back.

## Timing

Casts reach STONKFUNBOT quickly, so the confirmation window on Farcaster is short — long enough to read the proposal and reply, not open-ended. A confirmation always re-checks the real, current price when it's received — see [Confirm](/transaction-flow/confirm.md).

## What stays private

STONKFUNBOT will not answer a balance or wallet-holdings question publicly on Farcaster, even if you're the one asking. See [Privacy](/understanding-the-system/privacy.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.stonkfun.bot/using-stonkfunbot/farcaster.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
