# What is STONKFUNBOT?

STONKFUNBOT is a conversational application for launching and trading tokens on StonkFun, a Solana launchpad where tokens are paired against another asset — commonly a tokenized stock — instead of against SOL directly.

You talk to it. It prices a real launch or trade. Nothing executes until you confirm the exact proposal you were shown.

## What it is not

STONKFUNBOT is not a generic autonomous trading bot. It does not:

* decide to trade on your behalf,
* act ahead of you or without your input, or
* treat a natural-language message as permission to spend.

A better description is a **conversational stonk/crypto application with transaction capabilities**: the conversational part understands what you're asking for and prices it; a separate, deterministic layer is the only thing that can turn a priced proposal into a signed transaction, and only after you confirm it. See [How STONKFUNBOT Works](/welcome/how-it-works.md).

## What it does today

* **Launch** a token on StonkFun, paired against a quote asset, from your own wallet.
* **Swap** — buy or sell a StonkFun token, routed through a Solana DEX aggregator.
* **Answer questions** about tokens, pairs, and market data via the [Terminal](/using-stonkfunbot/terminal.md), without needing a wallet or an account.
* Do all of the above from the **website**, or from a linked **X** or **Farcaster** account.

## Current chain

STONKFUNBOT currently executes on **Solana**. This is the only chain it signs and submits transactions on today.

## Beta status

STONKFUNBOT is in controlled beta. See [Beta](/help/beta.md) for what that means for availability and access.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.stonkfun.bot/welcome/what-is-stonkfunbot.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
